Disaster Recovery in Alabama
Dear friends and family,
The April 27th tornadoes changed our state forever. Thousands of homes were destroyed throughout our state, hundreds of lives were lost and billions of dollars in damages were done. In times like these, it is important for the church to arise and for neighbor to reach out to neighbor. One thing we must realize is that the cleanup and rebuilding process is going to take months and even years.
Several volunteers from The Dwelling Place have already made an impact on many families affected by the tornadoes through debris clean up, food distribution and of course prayer. We are making a difference in the lives of many who have lost their homes and loved ones, but there is much more that we need to do.
We have been going out and working in different areas of Madison, Limestone and Dekalb counties. Over the past week, we have established relationships with strategic disaster relief leaders and organizations and we are collaborating with them in the ongoing disaster relief efforts across North Alabama. We are also receiving phone calls from groups from out of state that want to come help. God has laid it upon our hearts that The Dwelling Place needs to help our region during this time of great need.
We are believing God initially for at least $10,000.00 to continue our disaster response efforts.
Blessings,
Patrick & Andrea Penn
